There is no file upload. Your prompt is sent to xAI (max_tokens=4096, roughly two thousand words of output). The reply is typeset with ReportLab as a PDF, or as Word if you pick Word — or if the text contains scripts ReportLab cannot draw. It is a first draft, not a filed instrument. Pro only; counts toward the daily AI cap even though no file is attached.
'Write a 2-page NDA between Acme Corp and Beta LLC covering software development, 2-year term' produces a specific, usable draft. 'Write an NDA' produces generic boilerplate you'll have to rewrite.
For longer documents, generate the executive summary, body, and appendices as separate runs, then Merge PDF (or concatenate in Word).
AI-generated legal, financial, or medical language needs a human pass. Use this to draft — not to finalise anything you'll sign, bill against, or file with authorities.
Auth, Pro, and the daily AI limit are checked without @validate_files because there is no upload. The prompt is the entire user message. Empty prompts are rejected.
needs_unicode_output() scans the first 500 characters for Arabic, CJK, Devanagari, Hebrew, Thai, and similar. Those scripts cannot use ReportLab's default fonts, so the file becomes a .docx even if you asked for PDF.
build_pdf_output writes a heading and paragraphs. Characters that still break ReportLab are replaced. This will never look like a law-firm template.
